Transit Services

There will be free shuttle service running between the Port Townsend ferry dock and Fort Worden The schedule will be timed to coincide with ferry arrivals and departures.

If you are traveling via the Hood Canal Bridge, there will be free shuttle service from the Shine Park & Ride (Jefferson County side) to the Port Townsend Park & Ride. Rhody Run will provide a free shuttle from the Port Townsend Park & Ride to Fort Worden and return.

Staying Here

Note: The Rhody Run culminates the week long Port Townsend Rhododendron Festival. Being a festival weekend, housing is usually booked up early. Therefore, if you plan to stay in or near Port Townsend the night before the race, be sure to make reservations well in advance.

Parks and Camping

Fort Worden State Park, the staging area for the Rhody Run, offers spacious and stately officer's houses, although availability is limited. There are also 85 campsites at Fort Worden State Park, 80 with full hookup, and 5 for hikers or bikers only.

Old Fort Townsend State Park, just off Highway 20 south of town, offers 40 campsites.

Fort Flagler State Parkon Marrowstone Island has over 100 campsites, some with full hookups. This is now available for online registration.

Fort Casey State Parkis located on State Highway 20, three miles south of Coupeville on Whidbey Island, adjacent to the Port Townsend/Keystone ferry terminal. There are 35 standard sites and 3 primitive tent sites.

Additional camping may be found at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Point Hudson Marina, and other nearby county parks
